Review: Ghost Armor Carbon Fiber protector

I hate cases. For me they are useless and pointless. I like to show off my phone. I also like being able to use whatever accessory I wish without having to worry about a case causing me issues.

A friend of mine at my EMS squad recommended that I go look into getting my phone protected by Ghost Armor, a small kiosk at the mall.

I have to say, they fit my needs very well. I wasn’t fond of antenna coverings until I saw their Carbon Fiber skin they had in the display case, and they had someone else’s phone in the bin dryer that had it on, and once I saw it I fell in love. It looked absolutely fantastic.

The skin feels great in my hand, very textured and it gives it a little more grip, but not too much, so you don’t accidentally let it slip out of your hand. They even threw in the regular no fingerprint screen guard as well (I didn’t like the Carbon Fiber on the front of it, felt scratchy against my face).

Here’s some pics, and I definitely recommend these guys if you are picky like me. Runs about $40 for the full treatment.

  1. Seriously? First off this side wrap looks like my daughter cut it with her pre-school scissors. Secondly, $40? What a joke, these are way cheaper elsewhere. Even high end companies like slickwraps have them for $20 for the full body wrap. $15 for just the side and back since the front is “itchy”. Odd how you were able to test the “itchy” front they don’t sell

  2. It doesn’t really make much sense, having a case, without something to at least protect the screen. Otherwise, yes, it is kind of “pointless”, because the screen is the most delicate part of the phone, besides that cases are mostly for decoration. I used Gadgetshieldz screen protectors to cover up my screen. It’s a transparent, thin layer, so I didn’t need to worry about my screen not working, or not looking good. It actually made my screen look brand new.

  3. First off, hey Jesus R… if that IS your real name… Ghost Armor indeed sells the carbon fiber treatment for the front of an iPhone as the author stated above…. and is also scratchy on your face ALSO as stated. All facts. Check into it man. Just a polite suggestion… ya might wanna Google these things (at least) before you put people on blast when you don’t know what you’re talking about. Kinda takes the credibility out of your whole statement, doesn’t it. In any event, moving right along. I’ve been using Ghost Armor on all my electronic devices’ screens for a ferw years now, and have not yet found a better more durable product out there, personally. That being said, I have damaged the Ghost Armor screen protector I had on my BlackBerry by dropping it in a parking lot on the blacktop, but I contacted Ghost Armor, and they immediately replaced it for free under Warranty. Got a new one via FedEx in less than 48 hours. They just asked that I pay shipping, and that I mail the old one that was damaged back to them after I received the replacement. Total out-of-pocket expense for a replacement was $5.04. They went even further to point out that the Warranty replacement I received also carried a lifetime warranty against damage or failure. Can’t ask for more in my opinion. Great product and GREAT company to deal with. Excellent customer service online and by phone. Check em out.

  4. “Jesus R” is a moron. I’ve used ghost armor for over two years now and have yet to find anything that protects my screen better. Has zero effect on the response time when I touch the screen. They most definitely do not look likes a child cut them out. Since my phone spends a lot of time in my pocket, the sides eventually peeled off, but the front and back have not suffered at all. I’m going to get ghost armor on my new phone tomorrow now that I found the kiosk in the mall still exists.

  5. what does it protect from and what do u get in the warranty? and can they also put it on ipods? is it worth spending 40 bucks on? im not sure ive never had it. i hate cases they suck. they dont really protect the screen an suff. plus they dont always look nice. thanks for whoever helps me!!! :)

  6. DO NOT BUY!! Bought this at Mall of America kiosk after huge sell job on LIFETIME warranty. “bring it back and we will replace it FREE!” Yah right. It started peeling after ONE month! Brought it back for replacement, only to find out the MATERIALS are free, NOT the labor! What a joke! This is a total SCAM. Wanted our money back, but just missed the 30 day refund policy. Paid the stupid labor cost and the product started peeling again after 3 days! Will NOT be going back for another FREE replacement.
